FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Women to Women (W2W) will host their first concert event on Saturday, November 10 at the Indian Chief Tavern in Medford NJ and will feature 12 local female singers raising money for breast cancer research.

W2W is a unique new charitable organization rising out of the local Delaware Valley music community that will be organizing live music events featuring women from all walks of life taking to the stage and singing songs of solidarity to raise consciousness and funds to aid women in need.

Founder Jeanne Mannix Evans explains the inspiration for the project was an attempt to empower women to come out from behind the curtain and take their rightful place in the spotlight. Recognizing that so many women spend their lives nurturing and supporting others, Evans saw this as a way for women to nurture their own inner creative spirit as part of the process.

The net proceeds from W2W on November 10 will benefit Breast Cancer Research for the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org, in honor of a friend who is currently fighting the battle and for a sister in law Gina Evans, who recently lost her battle. Future events will continue to focus on raising awareness and funds for local women’s organizations that support women in crisis.

W2W will feature 12 local female artists including rocker Sandy Hall, from Kick it Out, Chris Hartline from ‘Sordid Past’, Susan Lake from the Rockets, and Gospel/jazz favorite Keli Vale. Also performing on November 10 will be a host of other women that Evans handpicked to highlight their unsung talent such as Robin Parry of World Café Live and Rachel Evans who will sing in homage to her mother Gina.

Acting as music coordinator and bandleader for the events will be Jeanne’s husband Mark Evans, former lead singer of Columbia recording artists Heaven’s Edge who has put together a prominent group of local musicians to back up the lineup of women performers.

Judging from the rehearsals, this event is going to seriously rock! The musicians are thrilled about the project and awed at the level of talent they are backing up. On a break from a recent rehearsal, drummer Joe Mannix talked about this project branching out even further. “Now that we know these songs and heard these women sing we are hoping they will come to our shows and hop up on stage!” says Mannix, referring to his band Out Loud.

The women are equally excited to be part of such a creative way to help further education and research in the fight against breast cancer. They will be singing their hearts out November 10 for their friends, sisters, mothers, and women everywhere.

W2W has already inspired a whole music community with love, admiration, and charity and cannot wait to share it all on November 10 at the Indian Chief!
