“Think Pink Floyd”…Philly’s Pink Floyd Tribute Band
By: Krista Doran
If you are a fan of the music from the 70’s on up through the 90’s like me, one band that is surely on your list of favorites is Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd actually formed in the mid 60’s and became well-known for their progressive compositions, bizarre lyrics and musical experimentation. Selling more than 73 million albums in the US alone, this is a band whose music is timeless.
The music of Pink Floyd can now be enjoyed once again, in a live “experience”, thanks to local Philly and National touring tribute act, Think Pink Floyd. For the last 4 years, Think Pink Floyd has been mesmerizing crowds of people all over with their fantastic sound, light and video show. They play all the favorite Pink Floyd hits that everyone knows and loves, showcasing entire albums from start to finish. The band demonstrates remarkable musicianship on stage and gives their audience a spectacular production whenever they perform.
Think Pink Floyd has built up an enormous repertoire playing to four hours of vintage Floyd material that will just blow your mind. They have all their bases covered too, by including music from the young Pink Floyd days in 1967 on up through the mid 90’s. Think Pink Floyd brings back the music of such albums as “Meddle”, “Dark Side Of The Moon”, “Wish You Were Here”, “Animals”, “The Wall”, “A Momentary Lapse Of Reason” and “The Division Bell” and they create a mood that every Pink Floyd lover will enjoy.

The music of Pink Floyd was magical and Think Pink Floyd brings back the psychedelic sound of an extremely unique band. Quite frankly, no one can play the music of Pink Floyd like Think Pink Floyd ‘s Lead Guitarist, Syd Sholly. His thoughtful playing and extreme musicianship is a site for the eyes and a feast for the ears – all replenishing the need in the soul to hear the music of one of the most beloved bands in the world. The entire band comes together for one hell of an experience that you need to see and feel.
Think Pink is: Bill – Guitar and Vocals; Syd – Lead Guitar and Vocals; Timmy – Bass and Vocals, Chie – Keys and Vocals and Roy – Drums and Vocals. You can catch Think Pink Floyd at many locations throughout the area, including every other month or so at one of The Out On The Town’s favorite spots, Sweeney’s Saloon located at 13639 Philmont Ave in Philly. Sweeney’s is a huge supporter of local tribute acts and a great place to see live music any time!
