LOS ANGELES – March 15, 2010 – Lady Gaga, one of the most exciting and innovative new artists in recent history, has announced her highly anticipated return to North America on the heels of her sold-out European tour. The 2010 North American leg of , presented by Virgin Mobile, will begin at Montreal’s Bell Centre, taking her spectacular show to 31 top arenas and a host of new cities in the U.S. and Canada throughout the summer and fall.
In keeping with Lady Gaga’s flair for the theatrical, as well as her innovative and creative spirit, the second leg of the tour promises to push the limits of the live concert experience, bringing fans a spectacle even more eye-popping than what they experienced during the thrilling first leg of The Monster Ball.
“It’s still called Monster Ball, but it’s more of a musical and less of a concert,” Lady Gaga said in a February interview with KIIS-FM’s Ryan Seacrest. “It has a New York theme, it’s a story, and the story is that me and my friends are in New York and we’re going to the Monster Ball, and we get lost.”
Critics around the world raved about the first leg of The Monster Ball Tour, which Gaga described as “the first-ever pop-electro opera.” The Sun called it “breathtaking stuff” and “the best live show you will see this year,” while London’s Independent wrote: “Gaga’s got it, which is why, right now, the whole pop world wants to take a ride on her disco stick.” Writing about her show at , the New York Times noted that “her Monster Ball tour always provided something worth a snapshot: a sci-fi tableau, perhaps, or a skimpy, glittery costume. The more her image gets around, the better Lady Gaga does.”
International tour promoter and producer for The Monster Ball under the direction of Arthur Fogel, CEO Global Touring and Chairman – Global Music Live Nation who said: “Lady Gaga has set out to revolutionize pop music and with her new production she continues to do exactly that. We’re thrilled to take The Monster Ball to fans around the world.” Global Touring is the

Live Nation just announced that Sting, accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, will embark on a world tour this summer including two area performances: Friday, July 9 at Borgata Event Center and Saturday, July 10 at Susquehanna Bank Center. The tour will find Sting performing his most celebrated songs re-imagined for symphonic arrangement. The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will be conducted by Maestro Steven Mercurio (Pavarotti, Bocelli).
The Borgata performance – Tickets can be purchased by calling 866-900-4TIX (4849) or by going to TheBorgata.com.
The Susquehanna Bank Center performance will go on sale Monday, March 22 at 10am. Tickets are available at LiveNation.com, Live Nation Box Office (111 Presidential Blvd, Bala Cynwyd), Susquehanna Bank Center Box Office (1 Harbour Blvd, Camden) or charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000.
Drawing from a diverse and illustrious career that has produced numerous multi-platinum albums, a staggering list of number one songs, countless accolades and worldwide record sales of nearly 100 million, Sting’s greatest hits will be reinterpreted with brand new orchestrations created especially for this tour. Selections will include fan-favorites such as “Roxanne,” “Next To You,” “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” and “Every Breath You Take,” to notable songs from Sting’s enduring solo career – “Englishman in New York,” “Fragile,” “Russians,” “If I Ever Lose My Faith in You,” “Fields of Gold,” and “Desert Rose.”
Presented in a variety of settings, the tour begins June 2 in Vancouver and then travels to numerous cities across North America. Dates announced today include: June 9 at Red Rocks in Denver; June 15 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles; July 17 and 18 at Chicago’s renowned Ravinia Festival. Sting will also perform in New York, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia, Portland, Seattle and Washington and return to Canada, with stops in Toronto and Montreal. Additional North American cities, venues and on-sale dates will be announced in the next few weeks, with other territories throughout the UK and Europe to follow soon.
Never afraid to blaze the path of new musical territory, Sting’s foray into the classical realm began with the crossover success of his No. 1 album Songs from the Labyrinth, a lute-based interpretation of the music of 16th century composer John Dowland, released in 2006 on Deutsche Grammophon. After completing the enormously successful Police reunion world tour, Sting returned to pursue his passion for uniting musical genres with his most recent release If On A Winter’s Night… which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s classical chart and remains there.
Sting’s interest in collaborating with an orchestra began in 2008 following an invitation to perform with the legendary Chicago Symphony Orchestra. After reworking selections from his expansive catalog, he and several members of his longtime band joined the orchestra in a performance that left an indelible mark on Sting. Eager to explore the possibilities of further symphonic collaboration, Sting was excited when the Philadelphia Orchestra asked him to join them in commemoration of the 153rd anniversary of the Academy of Music.
“Performing with both the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Philadelphia Orchestra was truly a highlight of my career. I’m delighted by this new opportunity to tour with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and reinterpret the songs I’ve been playing for many years.” commented Sting.
The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra has previously performed with internationally-renowned artists ranging from opera luminaries Andrea Bocelli, Bryn Terfel, Renée Fleming, Kiri Te Kanawa and the late Luciano Pavarotti to popular cultural icons including Burt Bacharach, George Benson, Michel Legrand, Diana Krall, Tina Turner and Randy Newman. The 45-piece orchestra will be featured on all North American concert dates of the tour.
Sting will also be joined by a quartet comprised of Dominic Miller (Sting’s longtime guitarist), David Cossin (a multi-percussion specialist in new and experimental music and featured member of the Bang on a Can All-Stars), Jo Lawry (vocalist) and Ira Coleman (bassist).
The tour is promoted by Live Nation and produced by RZO Entertainment, Inc. in association with Universal Music Classical Management & Productions.

LAS VEGAS, NV — Jimmie Lee, The Jersey Outlaw recently ignited Las Vegas on fire with his huge sold out show which punched his career into the “Stratosphere”. This Live Show will be made into a live CD that will hit stores early spring 2010. This is one Jimmie Lee CD that you don’t want to miss!!
The Jersey Outlaw delivers powerful shows, and performs live as though his life depends on it. No entertainer on earth has ever been more powerful in front of the crowd, and Jimmie Lee needs nothing more than his music! Every new concert for Jimmie is a new test, a new challenge and the stage becomes his proving ground. Jimmies trademark country horse powered sound is still intact in each song , and our boy delivers.
The bad boy of country rock opened the show with “LETS GO”, a killer ‘in your face’ country rock extravaganza that’s an audience favorite!!
Jimmies concert included favorites as Kickin Ass, Crazy Bitch, Forever 29, and he reached into the attic for some songs from his early albums. Our boy kicked it like nobody’s business with an encore of his best, Gimme A Holler, Cross Country 4 Wheel Drive, and closed the show with his theme song, Country Rocker. A meaningful set ending piece with the jive band groove and evangelical exhortations. The Jersey Outlaw rides again, with an uplifting, exhilarating phenomenal show!! 5 Stars, Baby!!!
Jimmie has played last year to sold out crowds at the House Of Blues, Atlantic City; Hard Rock Cafe, Philadelphia; Prospectors Saloon and many more!!
Most recently, The Jersey Outlaw has teamed up with HighRollerClothing to create the Jimmie Lee Special Collector T-shirts. They are available at www.highrollerclothing.com and at all Jimmie Lee shows.
Expect big venues this year as The Jersey Outlaw Road Tour hits the ground running. Our boys on fire and better than ever. It’s a show you must see!

The Philly area has so much to offer along the lines of live music. Whatever your taste may be, you can find something to your liking and of course, here at The Out On The Town, we bring you some of the best and most diverse entertainers you will see anywhere. We have been covering the best live bands for years and have been bringing our readers lots of choices in where to go and who to see. As so many of you already know, the OOT is the one and ONLY place you can go to that will give you some of the best choices in live music today!
I wanted to switch gears a little for this issue and give our readers something different to think about, along the lines of live music. There has been quite an uprising of Tribute Bands in this area and we thought it would be a great idea to point you in the right direction as to who to see. Tribute Bands are a rare breed and work extremely hard to bring their fans a musical experience that is as close as possible to the real thing. Seeing a Tribute Band gives you an opportunity to see a live band playing music from some of your favorite popular artists that you would not be able to see otherwise. Many of these acts have formed because of how much they might enjoy the music of a particular artist. Or perhaps some want to pay tribute because their favorite band may no longer be around or members may have passed away. Whatever the reason may be, we are very lucky to have such bands around that take the time to do this for our entertainment.
Some of the more popular artists such as The Beatles, Elvis Presley and the Rolling Stones have literally hundreds of Tribute Bands across the US, who put on sensational shows almost as spectacular as the original. But right here in the Philly area you have the opportunity to see many truly talented and dedicated bands that put on such great shows, you would think you were listening to the real thing in a more intimate atmosphere. Some of them even look the part. One of the Tribute acts that have really been making a splash in our area is Steal Your Face, who puts on a fantastic Grateful Dead Show. I had the opportunity to speak to Paul Baroli, better known as “Kahuna” and who is the bass player for SYF. Paul explained to me that it’s really the love of the music from the Grateful Dead that inspired them to form. “We love the Grateful Dead – that’s where it starts and ends for us. We have always been big Dead Heads and we love the fans and the community that is the Grateful Dead experience. It has always been part of us and we just wanted to be able to bring that music to everyone to enjoy.”
Tribute bands, in many cases can be the next best thing to seeing the original. Here are some great choices if you think you would like to check them out:

AJ Slick Band (Stevie Ray Vaughan Tribute) – www.myspace.com/ajslick68
Disposable Heroes (Metallica Tribute) – www.disposable-heroes.com

There are also a few websites I found that promote Tribute Bands: www.gigmasters.com, www.tributecity.com . You can go to these sites to see if there is a particular Tribute Band you may want to see in your area or even to book them for a party or club event.
I give these musicians lots of credit for what they do. Being in a tribute bands means every note, every chord; every nuance of a song has to be completely accurate in order for the music to sound authentic. You can’t get away with playing anything other than note for note, because people that come to see a Tribute Band are true fans of the original and expect the bands paying homage to be no less than perfect. This is why it’s a great idea to go see a Tribute Band. It’s always going to be a great show!
